This Privacy Policy explains how FlipScout ("we," "us," or "our"), operated by Andres Arriaga, handles your information when you use our Telegram bot (@TheFlipScoutBot) and website (the "Service").
Telegram identity: When you message the bot, Telegram provides us your numeric Telegram user ID and, if set, your username. We store these to track your scan count and subscription status. We do not receive your phone number.
Photos you send: Images you send to the bot are passed to our AI provider for item identification and immediately discarded. We do not store your photos.
Usage data: We record the number of scans you have performed and the timestamp of your first and last activity to manage your free allowance and subscription.
Payment information: Subscription payments are handled by our third-party payment processor. We receive only a confirmation that payment was successful and a customer reference ID. We never see or store your card number or billing address.
We do not sell your data, use your photos to train AI models, or share your information with advertisers.
Each provider has its own privacy policy governing their handling of data.
Your Telegram ID, username, scan count, and subscription status are stored in a PostgreSQL database hosted on a Hetzner VPS in the EU. We use industry-standard access controls and encryption in transit. No security system is perfect; we cannot guarantee absolute security.
To delete your account data, message the bot with /delete or email
privacy@flipscout.me.
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, or delete your personal data. EU/EEA residents have additional rights under the GDPR, including the right to data portability and to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority. Contact us at privacy@flipscout.me to exercise any of these rights. We will respond within 30 days.
The Service is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13.
We may update this Privacy Policy. We will notify active users of material changes via Telegram message. The date at the top of this page reflects the most recent update.
